For complete stability you need to drill the base of it into your cabinets or wherever you are placing it. Areas you place pans on are not 100% with stable measurements but the version I got was the “New & improved ver.” ? It mostly works and at a certain point you just have to play with the centering and off-set of where weight can go when placing pans/pots/skillets ect. Don’t get me wrong it does as it is advertised, and it does help rectify my clusters of messy stacked kitchen ware… Not perfect but not bad either. I’m using it and will be stabilizing with screwing base/back into side of cabinet. Clears up 3/5 of area to one little side so yeah.. get it if you don’t find anything better.Last Thing: Yes it doesn’t matter if all stacked in there is cast iron.. It will hold. Now that integrity of this item is very commendable and was the selling point to me.

I’ve waited a good while to review this rack. I like to see how things hold up. I put all of my grandmothers old cast iron skillets on this thing for years. These skillets are heavy. They aren’t like cast iron skillets at Target or Walmart. These things weigh a ton and they are thick. You swing one of these skillets at someones head your gonna knock em’ out. This rack has held up like a champ.It holds 5 skillets and it only takes up as much counter space as your largest skillet. For years we had to scatter our skillets between different cabinets and drawers because they were just too heavy to nest them all together. And man, what a pain it is trying to remember what cabinet the small skillet is in or what drawer the medium skillet is in. And they never seem to end up back in the same place.We absolutely love this rack!

It’s stable and doesn’t move at all. No issues using my slideout drawer or using the stacked pans and pots.
