I enjoy drinking coffee, but I prefer mine mild with creamer. This Mutombo coffee maker works great for me. Here’s why:- I love the small size since my counter space is limited. It also can slide it out of the way underneath my cupboards when I am not using it. The color is different in person than in the picture; it is more like a dark shiny yellow-brown. I doesn’t matter to me what the color is.- The initial process of measuring out the water to coffee ratio took me a while since I was used to having a larger coffee pot with printed measurements on the side. I needed several trials to get my personal preferences figured out. So now I am using a clear plastic cup and drew my own line with a permanent marker to show me how much water to use for my scoop of coffee. Very easy to quickly make my first cup in the morning (although I get everything ready the night before).- I timed the process from pushing the button to the last drip for a finished cup: 2 1/2 minutes. Just a guess that it might take longer if you are using more water. At this point I am using 6 oz of water each time. The coffee is hot, but not as hot as my previous coffee maker. Again this is not a problem for me since I am retired. I have a mug warmer sitting next to my favorite chair, or I can pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds and keep sipping elsewhere like on my patio.- I like the reusable coffee baskets that were provided. I prefer using my long time favorite Maxwell House Breakfast Blend mild. BUT, after reading what was printed in the product description and watching the video provided, I am rethinking my coffee choice. I have never thought about coffee beans, harvesting, and ethically providing work to people. I want to support the idea of fair trade over low price at the grocery. I will need to do more research into the Mutombo coffee versus my current product.

The media could not be loaded. So I used to own a Keurig then it broke over ten years of use so I opted for a French press which I love, but took too long to make the coffee in the morning. I live in a small space so I needed something compact yet strong enough for multiple cups of coffee. This seemed amazing. It was the right small size. Made a few cups one by one and fits a standard sized coffee mug. It comes with a booklet with instructions. A few Keurig reusable filters but can also use pods if not using coffee grains which is awesome. Few things though that I wish were different. The water reservoir is in the back and you cannot see how much water you pour. So that will take time and measurements in the beginning until you learn how much it can hold each time. It’s nice though because the water reservoir has a filter to filter the tap water if that’s what you use. The top of closure was stiff and hard to close for me. I actually broke off a side piece on the inside because I had such trouble closing it. You lift the handle and then to close hold up the handle push down and listen for the clock. It always seems like I’m forcing it closed so I’m a little worried about that. Than you press the coffee emblem button and it turns on. Heats up and than starts the brewing. It is very loud for such a small machine but that’s fine. It does make a great cup of coffee that’s hot and stays hot. That is probably the most important. The color is a gold copper ish color which is nice. I’m happy so far and it’s very convenient. Small footprint in my counter which is nice and I have used it now for 3 days multiple times each day and it’s working well. The reusable filters are such amazing quality I’m impressed. They will last a long while plus I believe they are universal. I do love the versatility with grands versus pods which is nice too.
